Hi, I'm Megan

I’m a survivor, an advocate, and the daughter of a woman whose life was taken too soon.

I built Silver Lining of Hope to ensure that my mom’s death isn’t reduced to a case number or forgotten statistic. She was more than what happened to her—and so am I.

As someone who has lived through domestic violence firsthand, I understand the fear, the isolation, and the strength it takes to survive. I also know how often the system fails those who need it most.

Since my mom passed, I’ve poured myself into research—reviewing medical documents, analyzing laws, and learning everything I can about the systems that are supposed to protect us. I don’t have all the answers, but I know this:

We deserve better.
And I’m not going anywhere until change happens.

Welcome to the movement. 💜

My Story

At 18, I became a domestic violence survivor.
At 25, I became the daughter of a woman whose life was cut short by that same cycle of abuse.

Surviving my own experience was hard. But losing someone I loved to domestic violence—that shattered something deeper.

My mom… the same woman who cried herself to sleep just knowing part of what I had endured.
Before I knew it, I was watching her live it, too.
Begging. Screaming. Crying for her to leave, to not go back.
And then… I lost her.

Before any of this, I had already made it my mission to advocate—for victims of domestic violence, for survivors of sexual abuse, for the missing and the unheard. For those still fighting, and those whose voices have been silenced.

But losing my mom changed everything. It took that mission to another level.
It lit a fire in me—and that fire brought us here.

I haven't spoken very publicly about the details of her case. Not yet.
But, don’t mistake this for silence.

There’s a bigger mission at hand. And when the time comes, I’ll be ready to tell her full story.

Until then, I’ll keep building this platform—for survivors, for families, for the ones who feel invisible.
My mom’s name was Hope, and that’s what I carry forward now:

To ensure she is never reduced to a statistic.
To keep her memory alive.
To create change in her name.

If her story helps even just one person—

For the love of Hope, I will never stop fighting.

For my Mom, I will never stop fighting.

For the voiceless, I will never stop fighting.

Got it! Thank you for following our fight to justice.
